Therapy is a Deeply Emotional Experience

Finding the right therapist matters

I believe that everyone deserves to live a fulfilling, meaningful and happy life regardless of life experiences, emotions, age or health. I became a therapist because I am passionate about helping others in the process of healing, and being a companion in this journey. To me, it is a privilege to hold a private space for others where there is no judgement and is safe to overcome emotional pain.

Therapy isn’t one size fits all

I use a trauma-informed, evidence-based approach to therapy:

My clinical training includes evidence-based approaches, allowing me to adapt therapy to your needs, goals, age and experience rather than relying on a single method:

Clinical Approach

  • EMDR – Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing – teens and kids & adults
  • DBT – Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
  • CPT – Cognitive Processing Therapy
  • TFCBT – Trauma Focused CBT
  • Unified Protocol (UP)
  • CBT – Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Specialized Training

  • Therapeutic Horticulture
  • Grief Counseling
  • Neurodiversity affirming therapy

Sometimes you feel an emotional pain that is so deep you can’t find words to express it

The weight of those unspoken emotions can easily become overwhelming and heavy, leaving us feeling alone and isolated. You may show that things are well, but inside it feels a mess.

People often tell me that they “don’t want to be a burden”, so they stay quiet, and suffer alone.

Thoughts that “it’s all in my head” or “others have it worse than me” often stem from fear, shame or embarrassment that pushes the pain deeper until life becomes numb and joyless.

I hear you…

Feeling misunderstood, disconnected and lonely is real.

… you don’t have to carry this alone. If you’re ready to talk, we can start here.

Come home… literally

My Reno office was once a home that has been thoughtfully converted into office spaces, giving our sessions the comfortable feel of a living room.

I provide therapy and workshops in English or Spanish, in-person in Reno and online throughout Nevada.

Hours are by appointment only, Monday through Thursday starting in the late afternoon.

I’m a licensed therapist experienced working in government, therapy agencies, higher education, k to 12 schools, with clients across the lifespan – from kids to adults of different cultural backgrounds.

The Process of Therapy

How it starts:

Let’s Connect

We start where you’d like to begin. Whether it’s learning about each other or sharing your story, we’ll have a comfortable conversation in a space to safely open up.

Understand

Therapy is a wonderful process that leads to discover the unexpected and seeing your life in a new way. I refer to this process as ‘peeling the onion’. We take one layer off at a time, getting to understand the root cause of fear, doubt, and other difficult emotions.

Build

Sometimes we know the life we want, but can you envision it? Often starting with a blurry vision of your future, we’ll work together to shape it and make it real. I’ll be your support and guide in nourishing your inner strength.

Move Forward

Reaching the end of therapy means living life with clarity and confidence. The conclusion of therapy is a time that reflects the hidden strengths you’ve always had, but now they shine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, 100%! I believe that human connection has no boundaries. I provide a welcoming affirming space where you can be your authentic self without judgement. The sun shines for everyone!

Absolutely! While you have the ability to schedule set weekday and time appointments, we can also schedule based on your ‘crazy schedule’. Life happens! We roll with it.

Session availability starts at 3:30pm and the last appointment is set at 5 PM.

How often we meet depends on your unique situation. We’ll typically discuss schedules during our intake session, and adjust it as we move through your therapeutic journey. Most of my clients generally start meeting every other week.

A Little More About Me

  • While I love gardening, I don’t have a “green thumb”. My family always jokes that the Habaneros I grow are the smallest they’ve ever seen!
  • I’m on a mission to visit ‘unique colored sand’ beaches! So far I’ve visited beaches with purple, green, red, black, glass, dark brown and a unique limestone pebble beach.
  • I drove through a tree! Trees are so resilient, even after being struck by lightning they still stand. In the picture above, I’m standing under a Sequoia Tree.
